When Terlingen heard from someone about the drawing on the bargain website, he was immediately curious. “I was attracted by its uniqueness and approached the man who sold it,” he says. The seller tells him that he saw the drawing about twelve years ago on the sidewalk on Utrecht’s Nieuwegracht, together with statues of saints. “The archiepiscopal school used to be there, and in the drawing you also see a figure of Jesus in the middle. Perhaps it has a link with that,” thinks Terlingen.
