Dragon’s Dogma 2 shows breathtaking combat in the trailer, proving once again why it is a great RPG hope for 2024

Dragon’s Dogma 2, coming soon to Steam, is the successor to the popular and highly acclaimed role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma, which was first released in 2012 on the PS2 and Xbox 360. Now a trailer shows again why the successor is already considered a great RPG hope for 2024.

Why is it an RPG hope? Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an action role-playing game from Capcom that will be released on March 22, 2024 on Steam, PS5 and Xbox.

If the role-playing game works without co-op, it offers you many features that should particularly delight RPG fans:

  • A large open world consisting of two nations with an interesting fantasy setting
  • Free design of your character with appearance, calling, equipment, etc.
  • Three AI-controlled companions who support you in the fight against various enemies, monsters and dragons
  • Exciting battles against difficult opponents in which you even have to take your surroundings into account
  • A new trailer shows how good the fights will look in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which not only arouses anticipation among fans, but also introduces a new calling:

What does the trailer show? The trailer shows you some combat gameplay against a variety of opponents in just under 2 minutes. Starting with a fight against a powerful dragon. As the trailer shows, you as a player even have the opportunity to jump on the dragon and attack it from its back.

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you don’t just hit your enemies head-on, you also take advantage of your surroundings and your opponents’ weaknesses.

This can also be seen elsewhere in the trailer, which shows a magician who first creates an impressive and graphically beautiful ice wall to block an incoming attack. He then uses the half-destroyed ice wall as a ramp and simply attacks his opponent from above.

New calling becomes all-rounder in battle

What makes this particularly interesting is the new calling that is presented in the trailer. In English this is called “Warfarer” and it is a real all-rounder in the game. She can use all weapons and abilities of the other callings and can switch them fluently in battle. As the trailer shows, this offers you plenty of opportunities to gain the upper hand in battle.

What are the reactions? In the comments under the trailer (via YouTube), fans and players are not only looking forward to the release in March, but are especially excited about the new calling.

For example, user Stormwolf4 writes: “It is impossible to summarize the extent of my enthusiasm for this game! This new calling looks insane and I love it!”

This comment pretty much sums up most of the other comments in two sentences. But we don’t want to withhold a few other comments from you here:

  • KeyPinMaxos writes: “This new calling can be such a ‘game changer’ for different opponents and special situations, damn it!”
  • Nailfut writes: “We’re going to the moon with this calling, people”
  • JuliusCaesar103 writes: “I didn’t think my jaw would drop even further”
  • What do you think of the trailer and gameplay? Are you looking forward to Dragon’s Dogma 2? Feel free to write in the comments.
