As you level up, the Awakened and your main vassal in Dragon’s Dogma 2 gain noticeable strength. In this guide we will tell you how you can farm experience and level-ups particularly efficiently.
If you level up your Awakened or main vassal in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the fighters’ stats will receive a significant boost, depending on their current active career. In addition, you also level up your currently active career and unlock new passive or active skills with further ranks.
You will notice how effective level-ups are in combination with the acquired skills and equipment upgrades when you return to older areas for a quest. Formerly tricky groups of opponents suddenly drop like flies.
In short: If you want to make the adventure of Dragon’s Dogma 2 noticeably easier, level your own alter ego and the main vassal as efficiently as possible. We’ll tell you how to do this in this guide.

General tips for leveling up quickly
The most important sources of experience: You will get most of the XP from completing quests and killing enemies. Small monsters reward significantly less experience than the big ones, such as griffins, dragons, trolls and ogres.
However, a large group of weak enemies can provide you with a similar amount of experience as a single, big villain, except that you often drive the crowd of opponents to the ground much faster.
Please note that you can only level up your current career using the experience points you receive through battles. XP from quests does not count towards your class’s progress.
So what should I consider?
If you want to efficiently level up your character strength and career, avoid fast travel. Move through the open world and, above all, take large groups of enemies with you.
For maximum AoE damage, pack auxiliary minions that rely on the Archmage and Warrior careers. Add to that a thief for high single-target damage to large beasts who can also steal items, and you have laid the foundation for a powerful farming group.
You can get your squad in shape by taking a rest at the campfire. Cook a meal for a stat buff, restore your maximum health, and you’ll start farming much better.
Do monsters respawn when camped? The creatures in the open world have a fairly long respawn timer. It takes about a week for all defeated enemies to respawn.
Grab as many side quests as possible while exploring the game world. Some of these can be done quickly and grant additional XP in parallel with killing monsters.
Please note that you will encounter more and stronger monsters in the open world at night.
Upgrade your weapons and equipment from the armor dealers to at least the first level in order to cut through your opponents more efficiently.
Avoid creatures for which you are still too weak. Going around an enemy takes less time than losing a battle.
Perfect XP and gold farm in the early game – you have to go here
Near the first town, Vernworth, there is a farm route through which you can earn around 23,000 experience points and 15,000 gold per hour. The farm location was described by Youtuber Kibbles Gaming, who presents the route in his new video:
Here are the most important key data:
Kibbles Gaming went out with two archmages and a magician (for healing). His Arisen is an archer.
Before the run, the Youtuber had collected 56,143 experience and his heroine was at level 17.
The route starts at the bridge that leads out of the city in the northwest. The first path leads to the Trevo mine. Then we go back a short distance outside into further cave areas. The third and final cave finally leads you back to the city.
After about a quarter of an hour, you go back to the city to empty your inventory, possibly regenerate health points and skip a few days (this is particularly quick on benches).
After about 19 minutes, Kibbles Gaming is back at the starting point to start the second run. The new XP level: 63,805. So he was able to collect 7,662 experience points in one round.
Extrapolated to an hour, there are around 23,000 experiences.
