In Dragon Ball Daima, Son-Goku and his friends become children again. If this premise seems familiar to you, this is no coincidence.
Which anime is Dragon Ball Daima based on? There has already been an anime in which Son-Goku has shrunk. In Dragon Ball GT, the Saiyajin becomes a child again and goes on an adventure with his granddaughter Pan and teen trunks.
It is no coincidence that a children’s son-Goku appears in both anime. Akio Iyoku is a producer of the anime and confirms that Daima was made for the fans who saw the GT in their own childhood at the time:
I was aware of the generation of the early 30-year-olds and the elderly who have already grown up and have children. I wanted to make an anime that parents and children can see together. You are the generation that “Dragon Ball GT” saw as children. I was aware of this, and my attempt to create a new anime series like “GT” became the starting point.
Accordingly, Daima is actually only a remake of GT and only arose because the anime is available. But to have a difference to the original, Akira Toriyama came with the idea of shrinking the entire troop.

Dragon Ball Daima arrives better than GT
Why do the two anime arrive so differently? Dragon Ball GT was hated by many fans at the time (via Reddit). The reason for this is that it is not part of the official story. As a result, there is a weak plot and logic gaps to the original material. The anime therefore only comes up with 6.8 out of 10.

What’s next with Dragon Ball? It is not yet known whether there will be a 2nd season of Dragon Ball Daima. Dragon Ball Super is currently not being continued, although the broadcast ended in the middle of the action of the manga.
