The US streamer Dr Disrespect has to listen to some sayings in public that relate to his ban from Twitch. As we now know, he was permanently banned from Twitch because he exchanged inappropriate messages with a then 17-year-old using Twitch’s whisper function. The German streamer MontanaBlack also had to put up with sayings along these lines on Twitch in Germany. But Dr Disrespect doesn’t let something like that sit there and hits back.
What kind of saying did Dr Disrespect get? At the Streamer Awards ceremony in the USA, DrDisrespect was discussed, but not as a winner or nominee.
The host QTCinderella said during a moderation on stage (via x):
The Streamer Awards are four years old. That means: In just 13 years we will receive a direct message from DrDisrespect.
This alluded to the scandal that DrDisrespect exchanged messages with a 17-year-old on Twitch. DrDisrespect later denied that anything scandalous or illegal had happened, saying they were just teasing. An investigation by Twitch also showed that nothing illegal had occurred.
But after it became known that he had been banned from Twitch because of these messages, his partners and friends distanced themselves from him and he was kicked out of his gaming studio. In the USA’s perception, the details or the jurisprudence played no role here; they morally condemned the streamer’s inappropriate involvement with a minor.
Dr Disrespect criticizes the entire Twitch scene: talentless and uncreative
This is how DrDisrespect reacts: He fires back: In a statement on December 16th, he called the whole scene “uncreative”. The people at the Stream Awards need each other to give themselves meaning. They couldn’t understand an elite old man like him. These are “pussies” that can’t do what he, the “Two-Time” does every week (via x):
Who was that stupid little presenter at the awards ceremony? We’re talking about complete lack of talent! Creativity? Doesn’t exist. Simply embarrassing how the industry has developed? Me – on the other hand? Me and you, side by side: We are still in great shape and stay in our own lane.
Then DrDisrespect announced a great 2025.
This announcement from QTCinderella sparked the angry reaction:
A similar situation in Germany, but without consequence
How did Germany go with MontanaBlack? The most relevant Twitch streamer in Germany, MontanaBlack, who is still the most relevant in 2024, received a similar comment to DrDisrespect in July 2024.
At a darts event that was broadcast live on Twitch, presenter Nils Bomhoff said: “If you need someone who knows how to hit a 17, then ask MontanaBlack.” (via x)
A little cleverer than QTCinderella, but ultimately the same message.
MontanaBlack, however, did not comment on this allusion. In contrast to Dr Disrespect, the German streamer has not lost any partners or business relationships. MontanaBlack remains largely silent on the whole topic that Bomhoff’s allusion is about and sits out the negative voices: 19-year-old is frustrated that Twitch streamer MontanaBlack is silent about the rumors
