17 percent of the students who completed the survey still do not have a room. The majority of the students who did find housing live in Utrecht. Nevertheless, it regularly happens that a foreign student has found a room in another municipality, in some cases even more than an hour and a half from Utrecht. In such a case it is quite expensive to go to lectures: unlike Dutch students, internationals cannot claim free travel by public transport.
