The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission reminded that there was an attack on March 2nd.
In the last attack, the soldiers who were with them to protect the civilian convoy from violence in the region were targeted. According to the statement made, 20 of the 53 people who lost their lives are soldiers.
Apart from this attack and the clashes that followed throughout the day, attacks carried out at different points in the country yesterday killed 11 more people. It is stated that one of the people killed was burned to death by armed groups.
The Human Rights Commission started an investigation on the reflection of photographs and images of a person’s death by burning on social media. The Ethiopian government also announced that the attackers would be punished. The incident took place when people wearing military attire stopped a bus and got off the bus and killed 8 ethnic Tigrayans.
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission states that there are reports of security forces shooting and burning civilians in the country as well.
