Downpours provide some relief, but drought persists: ‘Every drop counts’

Downpours provide some relief but drought persists Every drop counts
From tomorrow, farmers in the east of our province will no longer be allowed to collect water from ditches and streams to irrigate their land, for example. The Vallei en Veluwe district water board has introduced a so-called ‘exclusion ban for surface water’ to ensure that as much water as possible remains in the ground. Private individuals must also use (tap) water sparingly. “every drop counts”, writes the water board in a press release.
