“Doubtful” if the humor in the clip goes down well with the French

French President Emmanuel Macron is in Sweden for a two-day visit. Before the state visit, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson took the opportunity to send one greeting to the president with tips for a successful visit.

In the clip, which was posted on the prime minister’s Instagram, Kristersson – in both Swedish and English – talks about, among other things, how to behave when queuing, what happens if you complain about the weather and the importance of a coffee break in Sweden.

– It is broadcast quite seriously from a Swedish prime minister. It’s probably double. You want to communicate, be modern and a little edgy… Yes, maybe it’s irony, says Alice Petrén, journalist, author and former foreign correspondent in Paris for Sweden’s Radio.

The post has been met with several mocking comments that it is embarrassing and inappropriate.

Watch the clip – and Macron’s response – in the video above.
