Produced by FX Productions, the series was created by Joshua Zetumer (Hunting Boston, Robocop). In the casting of the series, Northern Irish actors like Lola Petticrew (Here are the Young Men) in the role of Dolours Price, Hazel Doupe (You are not my mother) in that of Marian Price, two women who became powerful symbols of radical politics, or even Anthony Boyle (Harry Potter, The Lost City of Z), who plays a charismatic military strategist plagued by conflict.
