Malmö FF tops the Allsvenskan on 21 points. There, Djurgården has a full eleven points and it could be more if MFF wins Sunday’s away meeting with newcomer Halmstad.
However, the distance is the least that Djurgården’s coach is thinking about at the moment.
After the loss in the derby, the “now” is all about the performance at the Tele2 arena and the week’s preparations until the match against Hammarby.
“Supporter Analysis”
— It almost ends up in some supporter analysis of the whole thing… I don’t know what happens in the first half, Kim and I must have done a bad job during the week, because it doesn’t look like we’re there, says Thomas Lagerlöf, who leads Djurgården together with Kim Bergstrand.
— The fight and willingness to run we showed is nowhere near enough. Now we gave away half a game and it’s not enough.
Djurgården was 0-2 down at the break, after Nahir Besara’s penalty goal and Nathaniel Adjei’s volley, and then had to chase in the second half.
Three reductions were scored, Oliver Berg, Haris Radetinac and Marcus Danielson on penalties, but the team was still a goal short compared to Hammarby.
“Not good at all”
— It’s not good at all, we’ve lost half of the matches we’ve played. It wasn’t what we wanted after eight games, says Danielson, whose hand caused the penalty that gave Hammarby 1-0 in the 34th minute.
— We need to catch up a lot in order to get better results.
TT: What needs to be improved?
– There are several parts, just today we are not quite there from the beginning and Hammarby has to get hold of the game. We weren’t relaxed but played a bit semi-nonchalantly. More clarity and easier play, he says.
— Then what Djurgården stands for: winning close matches, being hard and doing it together.
