Arıca warned the citizens not to drink the water in the pet bottle waiting in the car in hot weather. Pointing out that waiting water carries risks for human health, Arıca said that citizens often make this mistake. Stating that plastic is affected by the heat, Arıca said, “We buy a plastic bottle of water and drink half of it, and we can consume that liquid after 3 hours, 2 days or even a week. Anyway, water has no effect, but we know that plastic bottles are made of plastic. The main ingredient of plastic is bisphenol a. This substance does not pass from the plastic bottle, which is a pet, to the water, but in a hot environment, the poisonous, carcinogenic substance that we call bisphenol passes into the water very easily. For this reason, we should not use the water in the pet bottle, especially if 2-3 hours pass in the car and if we are in a hot environment.”
CAN CAUSE MANY DISEASES
Arıca, who also gave information about the negative effects of the water in the vehicle on health, said:
“The substance we use, which we call bisphenol, we see very often in children, early adolescence. Puberty can occur at 7-8 years old. Second, there may be a risk of obesity. Third, bisphenol A itself is a carcinogen. It can cause lung cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer. It can be effective in diseases related to Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and forgetfulness, especially in advancing ages. It can cause gynecomastia, which we call breast enlargement in men. For these reasons, we should not consume liquid that has been found in the vehicle for more than 2.3 hours, especially in the heat, but we should consume plenty of liquids.”
