Blue Bloods – Crime Scene New York has been with us on television for over a decade. But now it is clear: The last chapter of the Reagan family is just around the corner. The US broadcaster CBS, which is home to the police series, has not given the green light to a further extension.
The 14th season of Blue Bloods will be the last. The finale is scheduled to air on CBS before the end of the year. Cast and crew have already had to say goodbye to the popular series, because the last take has already fallen, as various behind-the-scenes insights from Donnie Wahlberg and Co. show.
Blue Bloods stars say goodbye to the series
Wahlberg has been part of Blue Bloods since the first season and is one of
Danny Reagan to the main cast. On Instagram he posted a short video from his last day of filming and wrote:
I am not sure I can find the right words to describe how I feel today or over the last 14 years on this special Blue Bloods journey, but I know how incredibly grateful I am for every moment of it. To the cast, crew, guest actors, extras, writers, producers, and every member of every single department – thank you.
Wahlberg continues:
To the people of New York, in every neighborhood and borough, thank you for always showing your love. To the NYPD, thank you for their support and sacrifice, I hope we did them proud. And finally, to my fans and the fans of this show. We can’t survive 14 days (let alone 14 years) without you! Your love and support for this show is one of the greatest blessings of my life. Thank you.
