Israel confirms that an agreement has been reached with Islamic Jihad on a ceasefire, which came into effect at 10:30 p.m. Swedish time on Sunday evening.
In a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, he thanked Egypt for mediating the conflict and added that Israel reserves the right to respond if the other party breaks the ceasefire.
Islamic Jihad announced earlier on Sunday evening that an agreement has been concluded with Israel. In return, Egypt is said to have promised to work for Israel to release two high-ranking members of the terror-labeled group.
