Donald Trump’s trial is broadcast live

The former US president maintains his innocence and pleads not guilty to all charges in the indictment in the state of Georgia. He is suspected of trying to influence the election results in the state in 2020 through, among other things, blackmail.

The prosecution in Georgia is the case where Donald Trump surrendered last week, was formally charged and then had to take the well-known criminal picture, also called “mugshot”, which quickly spread all over the world.

The Trump trial is broadcast live on YouTube

Now the prosecutor Scott McAfee announces that the trial, which is expected to be held in October, will be broadcast live on YouTube.

The live broadcast on the social media platform will be handled by the court.

The prosecutor refers to Judge Robert McBurney’s practice that follows the spirit of open courts in Georgia. McBurney led the grand jury investigation and prosecution phase of the case.

A large demand for a live broadcast in the courtroom is said to have also prompted the decision.

The prosecution in Georgia

The indictment in Georgia is one of four major cases in which Donald Trump is suspected of crimes.

The ex-president and his 18 co-accused allies are suspected of, among other things, having spread false rumors about electoral fraud in connection with the election and are also said to have urged officials and politicians to invalidate Joe Biden’s victory.

It is still unclear what date the trial will begin, but prosecutors have requested a start on October 23 this year.
