Former US President Donald Trump is suing his former lawyer Michael Cohen for more than 500 million dollars, roughly 5 billion in Swedish kronor. It reports Fox News.
According to Trump, Cohen has breached his professional lawyer-client role. Among other things, he allegedly breached his fiduciary duty, committed a breach of contract and exploited his position for unjust enrichment.
Spread “falsehoods”
In a 30-page lawsuit, Trump accuses Cohen of having “malicious intent” and “spreading falsehoods” about Trump that were “likely to be embarrassing or harmful.”
In addition, according to the suit, Cohen has continued his numerous public statements, including the publication of two books, a podcast series and countless appearances in mainstream media, despite the president’s order to desist.
Michel Cohen has not yet commented on the lawsuit, according to Fox News.
Trial against Trump
The lawsuit comes a week after trial negotiations against Trump, who is accused of, among other things, accounting violations during the 2016 presidential election. The trial is expected to take place next year.
