He was convicted on all 34 counts of accounting violations and violations of New York campaign finance laws.
The penalty will be announced later.
The former US president has been accused of ordering payments to people who threatened to leak sensitive information about him during the 2016 presidential campaign.
These have since been booked as legal expenses, which has been deemed to constitute a violation of New York’s campaign finance laws and constitute tax delinquency.
Trump denies wrongdoing
Trump has denied wrongdoing and claimed the trial is politically motivated.
More than 20 people have testified in the trial.
Trump, who was president of the United States between 2017 and 2021, has secured the delegates needed to become the Republican candidate in the fall presidential election against Democrat Joe Biden.
