Former President of the United States Donald Trump seeks to become the country’s president again in the 2024 elections. Trump announced his intentions at an event held at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
According to the Reuters news agency, Trump’s supporters had previously submitted papers to the United States election authority about setting up a committee called “Donald J. Trump for President 2024”.
The announcement was expected, as Trump had said in advance that he would make a special announcement on Tuesday local time.
Trump was elected president of the United States as the Republican candidate in 2016. He was also a candidate in 2020, but lost the election to the Democrats For Joe Biden.
Trump has persistently claimed that his defeat was the result of large-scale electoral fraud. However, no evidence of this has ever been presented.
