More dogs need new homes when many kennels and mats returned to their workplaces, instead of working at home.
There is a high demand for giving away so-called corona dogs, which were acquired during the pandemic, according to the association Hundstallet.
– I think it’s sad that you didn’t think when you got a dog that it would live up to ten years, sometimes longer, says Frida Larsson, stable manager at the Hundstallet, to SVT Nyheter Väst.
The association, which has three locations in the country, relocated 103 dogs in the first half of this year. At the same time last year, it was “only” 60.
Many took the opportunity to buy a dog while working from home, as a companion and to get out.
– Then maybe you thought that all the practical things would work out. Which it then didn’t do when everything started up again, says Frida Larsson.
