A family in the American city of Colorado Springs was awakened by the fire alarm early in the morning at the end of June. In the kitchen, they were greeted by flames from the gas stove.
Unexpected discovery
The fire spread quickly, but the homeowner managed to put the fire out himself.
When the emergency services then got there to investigate what had happened, an unexpected culprit was discovered in the drama.
Surveillance footage shows how the family’s dog jumped up on its hind legs to examine some boxes that were on top of the stove. But in the middle of sniffing, the dog got to the knob for the gas stove. Seconds later, the stove was in flames.
No one is said to have been injured in the fire and the emergency services themselves have released the video from the surveillance camera.
