Both tragic and emotional, Cristian’s story is now immortalized in Destiny 2 with the help of the Bungie Foundation and the Make-A-Wish organization.
Which story is it? Cris was born with a rare genetic disorder. He had his first surgery when he was 17 days old and from then on he spent much of his childhood in and out of the hospital.
Even after a kidney transplant, Cristian’s road to recovery is still very long and arduous. He himself says that he often “reached a point where I believed that nobody could reach me anymore.”
Nobody except his dog Artemis.
A friend in dark hours: Artemis, that is Cristian’s dog, was by his side every day in the darkest hours of his illness, when he no longer believed in hope himself, smiling and wagging his tail. This may not be particularly challenging for a dog, but “Dogs are more than what they appear to be,” explains Cris.
That’s why Cristian’s dearest wish was that his dog Artemis, he and what the friendship between the two stands for, will never be forgotten.
