A special visitor made a stop at the Norfolk OPP Detachment in Simcoe on Friday.
The visit by Tucker the dog and his handler from Boots on the Ground was a “great way to start a Friday,” OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk posted on social media.
A charitable organization staffed by volunteers, Boots on the Ground provides anonymous, confidential and compassionate support – both practical and emotional – between two people who share a common experience such as a mental health challenge or illness.
The peer support program is available for first responders including police, fire, paramedics, emergency dispatch operators, corrections personnel, nurses, and both serving and retired military personnel, across the province.
The help line is available 24 hours a day at 1-833-677-BOOT (2668).
