New documents from the first weeks of Russia’s war of aggression have been revealed, which tell about Russia’s conditions for Ukraine to end the war, says a Russian research group System.
Systema took possession of the terms of the negotiations between the two countries formulated by Russia for Ukraine on March 7, 2022. The documents were authenticated by a member of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation, and a member of the Russian delegation confirmed their authenticity.
The requirements were as follows:
In return, Russia promised Ukraine nothing but a ceasefire and measures to stop the fighting.
For example, Russia did not mention the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine. It was only willing to commit to not conquering more territories.
At the same time, Russia demanded that Ukraine withdraw its troops to its bases or to areas designated by Russia, and Western countries to immediately end all support to Ukraine.
The Russian troops, on the other hand, would have remained in place until all points of the agreement have been put into practice. This could have taken years. At the beginning of March in 2022, Russian troops were only a stone’s throw away from Kiev.
the president of Russia Vladimir Putin the real goal was to take away Ukraine’s defense capability and thus independence, says the Carnegie Center expert interviewed by Systema With Eric Ciaram.
Independent Russian media Medusa has translated Systema’s report into English.
