It is the Indonesian art group Taring Padi’s mural that has aroused criticism. Among other things, a pig wearing a helmet with the text “Mossad”, the Israeli security service, can be seen there. In another place, a man is seen with curls on the sides of his head equipped with fangs and a hat with the SS symbol.
At the end of June, Documenta decided to cover the mural after criticism from, among others, the Israeli embassy in Germany and a number of Jewish groups.
Documenta is held every five years in the German city of Kassel.
