His film, The last refuge was filmed at the gates of the Sahara, in La Maison des Migrants in Gao, Mali. Every year, this refuge welcomes people in transit to Algeria or returning after a failed attempt to Europe. This exceptional documentary by Ousmane Samassekou is part of the collection Generation Africawhich brings together 25 films made by young filmmakers from all over the continent and broadcast on the Arte channel.
