    A doctor in Kristianstad prescribed large quantities of narcotics for himself. Now he will lose his doctor’s license, reports Kristianstadsbladet.

    The Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) started a case regarding the man in the fall of 2022. Although they tried to contact him on several occasions, they never received an answer.

    According to Ivo, the man has deliberately stayed away and failed in his record keeping. Therefore, Ivo believes that he should not continue working as a doctor.

    Tens of thousands of Israelis are demonstrating around Israel on Saturday against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the Gaza war, Israeli media reports.

    Demonstrations against the Israeli government have been going on for months. An organization supporting the protests estimates that more than 150,000 people took part in Saturday’s protest in Tel Aviv – calling it the largest since the start of the Gaza war, according to AFP.

    “Stop the war” and “Take them home”, the protesters’ signs say, among other things. Some have laid down on the ground drenched in red paint to symbolize “Israel’s dying democracy”.

    They demand new elections and the release of the hostages taken by terror-labeled Hamas on October 7.

    On Saturday night, another separate demonstration took place in support of the hostages and it also drew thousands of people.

  • Two passenger cars in collision

    Two passenger cars have collided at the height of the Valdemarsro traffic area in Malmö.

    The alarm came in shortly after 8 p.m.

    – A total of four people must be involved, says Filip Annas, press spokesperson for the police in the South region.

    Police, ambulance and emergency services were called to the scene.

    – I don’t know if anyone has been injured or if anyone has been taken to hospital by ambulance. Both cars must be towed from the scene.

    The accident causes traffic disruptions.

    – At 20:30 there was a complete stop in the northbound direction, says Filip Annas.

    On the Swedish Transport Administration’s website, it says that the road is closed and that there is no forecast for when it can reopen.

  • Capri’s water problem solved

    The Italian island of Capri has had an acute water shortage since Thursday due to a breakdown in the water main that supplies the island.

    But now the problem should be solved, according to La Stampa.

    “The repair work was completed as planned. But when the water flow was opened, technical errors occurred that led to water shortages throughout Capri,” explains the company Gori, which manages the island’s water supply.

    Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly is demanding that 16 travel companies lose their licenses after arranging illegal trips to Mecca during the Muslim hajj pilgrimage.

    According to the government’s statement, those responsible at the companies may also be prosecuted.

    In total, over 1,100 deaths have been reported during this year’s Hajj – many of them as a result of heat stroke. Figures claim that the Egyptians were responsible for 658 deaths, of which 630 were unregistered pilgrims.

    The Prime Minister also demands that fines be imposed on the travel companies and that the money should benefit the victims’ relatives.

  • Fire in house at power plant

    Malung’s power plant is on fire.

    – We have a developed fire in one of the houses at the back of the power plant, says a team leader at SOS Alarm who is responsible for the Bergslagen rescue region.

    The fire service is on site and is putting out the fire.

    – There are no reports of personal injuries, says the team leader.

  • Car has overturned in Avesta

    A car has overturned on county road 701 in Avesta.

    Both the emergency services and two ambulances are on the scene.

    – The person had gotten out of the car himself when we arrived at the scene, says Annakajsa Gullberg-Dahl, team leader at SOS alarm.

    The road is currently closed in both directions. The forecast is currently that the road will open in about half an hour.

  • Suspected attempted murder – man stabbed

    A man in his 30s has been stabbed at an address in Billdal.

    The police were called to the scene just after 5pm on Saturday evening.

    – According to initial information, the attack must have been unprovoked, says Morten Gunneng, officer on duty at the police.

    The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

    – But I have a good summary of the injury situation right now, says Morten Gunneng.

    – We have several units on site, a helicopter and several dog patrols looking for a lone perpetrator.

    The man was found outside, and the place has now been cordoned off.

    – The crime classification right now is attempted murder, says Morten Gunneng.

  • Man stabbed in a fight in Bromsten

    The police were called to a fight at a restaurant in Bromsten in western Stockholm on Saturday afternoon.

    On their website, the police write that there were three people involved and that one of them, a 35-year-old man, was injured with a knife.

    The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, but the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

    The police are looking for the perpetrators. The crime is categorized as attempted murder or aggravated assault.

    Ecuador has begun building a maximum security prison for 800 inmates – a prison that will house the country’s most dangerous drug lords.

    The construction is the latest measure taken since the country declared war on the criminal gangs.

    In recent years, the once peaceful Ecuador has been hit by a spiral of violence, triggered by transnational cartels that use the country’s ports to ship cocaine to the United States and Europe.

    Gangs control several prisons – where more than 460 prisoners have been killed in three years in bloody drug conflicts.

    About 50 protesters are blocking car traffic to and from Kastrup airport in Copenhagen, write TV4.

    “Ban private flights”, the banners read.

    The police are on the scene with several resources.

    Air traffic should not be affected by the incident.

  • Two to hospital after barn fire

    During Saturday afternoon, a barn outside Åsele caught fire.

    – It burns a lot. The barn may burn down under controlled conditions. The rescue service is trying to protect adjacent buildings, says the operator at the rescue service SVT Västerbotten.

    Two people have been taken to hospital, one of them by ambulance helicopter to Lycksele. The extent of the damage is unclear.

    No animals are said to have been harmed, according to the rescue service.

    The police say they will investigate what caused the fire.

    The extinguishing work is expected to last at least until 6 pm in the evening.

    Hello! The police for statistics on that, which you will find here! Then from time to time we also make summaries of e.g. shooting deaths. So far this year, 18 people have been shot dead, so the number is down from last year. But compared to our neighboring countries, it is still at a high level.
