A doctor from Central Sweden was reported in 2019 to the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate (Ivo) for having prescribed large amounts of botox and growth hormone to his patients. Since the doctor is a psychiatrist, the region reacted to the prescriptions, writes Läkartidningen.
When Ivo wanted to see the medical records, the psychiatrist said that he had become seriously ill and could not get to the place where the documents were kept. When Ivo contacted the psychiatrist a year later, he stated that he had burned the documents.
The Health Care Liability Committee (HSAN) considers that the psychiatrist has breached his obligations as a doctor. He therefore loses his ID with immediate effect.
