The meeting between Armand Duplantis and Karsten Warholm has received the attention of the entire athletics world.
Now Usain Bolt’s words are revealed – which could bring down Mondo.
– I sent him my videos, says Warholm.
The athletics world is eagerly awaiting Wednesday’s heavyweight meeting between Armand Duplantis and Karsten Warholm, two of athletics’ greatest. Mondo is the best pole vaulter of all time, and Karsten Warholm has also made history in the 400 hurdles.
Trained with the world star
No one has actually competed in the 100 meters, but on Wednesday evening the Swede and the Norwegian meet in a duel that has made all those interested in athletics longing. And it is clear how much the duel means to both of them – and how thorough the preparations have been.
Armand Duplantis has said that after the Olympic gold and the world record in Paris, he began his training with a focus on the duel against Warholm, but only 20 days later he broke a new world record by speed alone. During the summer, Duplantis also had time to train with sprint star Fred Kerley, who took bronze in the 100 meters during the Olympics in Paris last summer.
Bolt’s words
But even Karsten Warholm has received some help – from perhaps the biggest name in athletics ever. During a press conference on Tuesday, Warholm revealed that he had made contact with none other than Usain Bolt, the fastest of all time at 100 meters.
– I sent my block starts to Usain Bolt. Do you want to see what he said?, Bolt told Norwegian Nettavisen.
Usain Bolt was not slow to respond, and Warholm went on to say that he made great use of the tips he received.
– “You shouldn’t go out of the blocks, you have to push,” says the Norwegian about Bolt’s clear call, and laughs.
