Do you love Yahoo Mail to the point of abandoning your other messaging services like Gmail or Outlook? Don’t miss any messages from your other accounts and collect them in Yahoo Mail.
Like Google’s Gmail or Microsoft’s Outlook.com, Yahoo’s messaging service (now owned by the operator Verizon) also allows you to group together several email addresses from other services. It is thus possible to manage your messages from Gmail, Outlook.com, Orange, SFR, etc. accounts directly from Yahoo Mail. The main advantage is that you no longer have to juggle between different webmail to collect your mail. Everything is centralized in a single interface. The letters from the various accounts are of course easily identifiable so as not to get tangled up in your brushes. They are gathered in a folder that you will have named yourself. Small non-negligible bonus: emails from other messaging services managed with Yahoo remain synchronized with the original messaging. For example, if you delete an email from a Gmail account from Yahoo Mail, it will also be deleted in your Gmail account.
Adding an external email account to your Yahoo account can be done simply from any web browser as long as it is a Gmail, Microsoft, AOL or other Yahoo account.
► Access your account Yahoo and log in with your username and password. Click, at the top right of the interface, on Settings. At the bottom of the menu that opens, choose Other parameters.
► In the left column, click on Mail boxes then on the button Add a mailbox.
► Yahoo offers to choose from a short list of the most popular email service providers: Google, Outlook.com, Office365, AOL and Yahoo. Click on the one that concerns you. If your email service is not in the list, no need to click Other. You will need to add it from the Yahoo Mail app on iOS or Android (see below). Strangely, this cannot be done with a web browser.
► Then enter the email address of the account you want to manage from Yahoo and click on Following.
► If you are logged in to this email account in another tab of your browser, select the account name in the window that appears. Otherwise, enter the password linked to this account.
► Give the necessary permissions to Yahoo to access this account.
► Now enter a username in the field Your name then give a name to the folder that will host this mailbox in the field Description. Confirm with a click on Ended.
► The import of the e-mail account starts. It can take several hours depending on the quantity of messages to be retrieved.
► Back in your inbox, you can see the external mail account managed with Yahoo at the top of the list.
Do you want to be able to view messages from your SFR, Free, Bouygues or Orange account, for example, directly from the Yahoo Mail interface? You must first configure the account from the service app available on iOS or Android before you can use it from any web browser.
► If you have not yet installed it, retrieve and launch the Yahoo app on your smartphone.
Download Yahoo Mail for Android
► Log in to your Yahoo account then press the icon of your avatar at the top left of the interface. In the menu that opens, choose Add another mailbox.
► At the bottom of the window that appears, press Others.
► Indicate the email address you want to manage from Yahoo Mail and confirm with Following.
► Yahoo normally collects all the data necessary for access to the server. Indicate the password linked to this address and validate.
► Synchronization starts. Your new mailbox is accessible from the Yahoo app but also from the Yahoo Mail webmail open in a web browser.
