Thor 4: Love and Thunder is packed full of hilarious scenes, storylines and cameos. The concentrated load of implemented creativity is not least due to the unique approach of director Taika Waititi. But it can when shooting Marvel also cause a lot of confusion as MCU stars Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson revealed in the Moviepilot interview.
In the Thor 4 mayhem, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson helped each other out
Jane Foster/Mighty Thor actress Portman explained how unusual a Waititi shoot feels:
A Taika Waititi film set is unlike any experience I’ve had before. There is so much improvisation and fun, everything is very loose and creative. Just a very exciting environment. It was great to be back with […] Tessa to work. When shooting from [Alex Garlands Sci-Fi-Film] Annihilation we became real friends.

Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman in Thor 4
This friendship was apparently also sorely needed for an overview on the set. Because the downside of the bubbling creativity is probably the organizational chaos, as Valkyrie actress Thompson suggests.
There is a certain amount of chaos and some confusion at times. It was great to have Natalie there and to ask: “Do you know what’s happening here right now?” – “No I dont know.” at [Thor 3] had Taika and Chris [Hemsworth] spent a lot of time together and both were really in the flow. It took me a while to orient myself. Tessa Thompson’s trust in Natalie Portman made the Thor 4 shoot terrific
According to Thompson, the disorientation was easily alleviated with Portman’s help. And it was precisely in their shared scenes that the trust between them took care of for a very passionate approach.
It’s so much fun to have this creative spirit in all the chaos. But that’s only possible if you completely trust the person you’re talking to. And it was great yourself [mit Natalie] to ask, “Okay, how do we do that? How do we capture the spirit and convey what we want to communicate in the scene?”
