Android users are warned about hackers

From time to time, security threats are discovered in Android phones. This could be, for example, malicious apps in the Google Play Store or virus links in text messages.

News24 has previously reported on a threat hiding in common Android apps.

It is designed to scan your bank card and then send the information to fraudsters who can use it to spend your money.

New security features in Android phones

The next update, Android-15, has many new features that should make the phones more secure and protect against threats like the one just mentioned. Here are some examples:

  • Factory Reset Protection: After a factory reset, login with your Google account or password will be required to use the phone again.
  • Private apps: Sensitive apps must be able to be locked with their own PIN code.
  • Anti-theft: The phone should lock automatically if it is taken out of your hand. Can also come to phones that do not have Android 15.
  • Biometric Authentication: Fingerprint or facial recognition will be required to change important settings.
  • Offline Lock: The phone should lock itself even without an internet connection if it is used without the correct login.
  • Remote locking: You should be able to lock the phone with your phone number and answer a security question if you forget your password.
  • Google Play Protect: Improved protection against malicious apps using AI.
  • In addition to the new security functions, many other functions will of course come to your phone when you update it to Android 15. You can read more about them below.
