The cult band Kent, by many regarded as Sweden’s foremost band ever, chose to close the band in 2016 – after a huge farewell tour.
The missing of the fans has since been enormous, and before one of the last gigs at Tele2 Arena, now 3 arena, they went in a funeral train.
But to their great delight, Kent will once again take the 3 arena-this time on March 21-27, 2025, for a few gigs. On October 24, 2024, a press release was published on the band’s homepagewhere the reunification was proclaimed.
“We are still friends and when we are seen, of course, we talk a lot about when we were a band. We have received several offers since the farewell, but above all lots of questions about when we are going to play together again, many from new fans who never saw us when it started. Last fall we just decided that the time was simply. We will not record new music and we will not tour, but it would be extremely fun to see you again. We hope you think it is as fun to see us.
The pressure on the tickets has been high and all concerts are sold out.
But the pressure on Memorabilia has also been high lately. The auction site Tradera writes in a press release that the iconic band contributes to hysteria on the sale of gadgets in the secondary market.
Everything from CDs and vinyl plates to sweaters and other merchandise are in demand. Their own statistics show that sales of Kent’s CD and vinyl records increased by 39 percent in January and February.
-The second hand market has the ability to live in parallel with major cultural events. It is clear that Kent is not just a band – it is part of people’s lives and memories. Before the reunion, we see that both collectors and fans want something physical to hold, and it is currently noticeable at Tradera, where the circular becomes an obvious part of how we consume music, ”says, says,” says Sofia Hagelinpress officer at Tradera, in the press release.
It is not just the sale of classic albums and sweaters that shot in line with Kent’s short -term reunion. Kent singles also reach the sky-high levels, at least when it comes at sale price. Some are sold for thousands of kronor at the auction square.
Tradera lists the five most expensive CD singles from the iconic band Kent, which was sold on the site:
