– It is important not to call unknown numbers, click on unknown links or download apps at someone else’s request, says Rojia Rafiipress manager at Telia, to News24.
Neither Telia, other telecom companies, authorities nor other serious actors send SMS to ask for a person’s information.
– Telia and Telia’s partners never ask customers to hand over their details via e-mail or SMS, says Simon Bindersecurity expert at Telia.
Anyone who uses the telecom company Telia’s services can forward suspected scam text messages to a number. Anyone who suspects that a text message or a call is fraud must always report this to the police on 114 14.

– Together with the industry, Telia fights SMS fraud via a new short number: 7726. Everyone can easily forward, and thus report, suspicious SMS to this number. If it is confirmed to be a scam, the sender is blocked, says Binder at Telia, to Nyheter24.
How to forward text messages is different depending on the type of mobile phone you have. On an iPhone, hold down the SMS and select “More”. Then click on the small arrow in the right corner. Then you can forward the message.
On an Android, go to the SMS, select the three dots in the upper right corner and select the “Forward in a new SMS” option.
