DO acquits staff who stopped alcohol purchases

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

But the DO has concluded that the staff did nothing wrong, as the man did not tell them he was sick, reports Ystad’s Allehanda.

When the staff asked how he was, he only said he was tired. However, the staff considered that he appeared to be noticeably under the influence and therefore, according to the provisions of the Alcohol Act, he must be denied the purchase of alcohol.

Since the staff did not know about his illness, the prohibition against discrimination was not violated, states the DO.

What also speaks in favor of the staff is that on a later visit to Systembolaget, the man was allowed to shop after telling about his illness.
