DN Battery manufacturer Northvolt goes bankrupt Brief news

Northvolt has had major problems in technology, economy and safety.

Battery company Northvolt is going bankrupt today, says the Swedish magazine Dagens Nyheter.

Today, the company should pay taxes and other charges to the Swedish State nearly SEK 220 million (approximately EUR 22 million).

However, the company’s debts exceed the funds by about twice and the equity is approximately SEK 34 billion.

Northvolt’s problems were widely known last year. There were problems with the company’s production and accidents occurred on its premises. In September, the company had to reduce a significant number of Skellefteå’s factory workforce.
