Instagram’s Threads app recently launched and already a very successful social media platform became. Now, it looks like Meta plans to further enhance the experience by including DMs (Direct Messages).
How will Threads DMs be?
In less than a week Threads, Breaking industry records and gaining nearly 100 million users succeeded. It was seen by many as an alternative to Twitter, which had its own troubles. But despite being a Twitter-like microblogging platform, Threads yet some basic features like DMs did not submit. However, it seems that the messaging functionality is also coming soon.
Earlier, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri had previously revealed that the company has no plans to roll out DMs anytime soon. However, a document found by Business Insider hints that Direct Message is one of the upcoming features.
According to the new report, the company ‘Improved search’ and ‘Messaging’ together with a new ‘Trends and Topics’ Working on the part. The update that brings these features offers various improvements for the platform, mainly based on feedback from the creators.
So it’s clear that DMs will probably be one of the most requested features. Since it’s also under the umbrella of Meta, Threads may also support cross-platform messaging like Instagram, which lets you message your friends on Messenger.
