NVIDIA introduced its latest image upscaling technology, DLSS 4. RTX 20, 30, 40 and 50 series graphics cards will increase performance with this update.
NVIDIA introduces next-generation image upscaling technology at the CES 2025 event DLSS4He announced. This technology will come to all RTX graphics cards and will offer different features to each series. DLSS 4 will work with full performance, especially on the new RTX 50 series graphics cards. It aims to increase FPS rates in games by up to eight times with innovative features such as Multi-Frame Generation. In addition, DLSS 4 will provide significant improvements in image quality, providing a more fluid and realistic gaming experience.
Features and Innovations of DLSS 4
DLSS 4 is described as the largest artificial intelligence model update that NVIDIA has offered to date. This technology supports features such as DLSS Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution and DLAA with a single advanced artificial intelligence model. As a result, it offers higher detail, better moving object stability and reduced ghosting issues.
DLSS 4 stands out with its Multi-Frame Generation feature on RTX 50 series graphics cards. This feature significantly increases FPS rates by producing three additional frames for every traditional frame. NVIDIA claims that it can offer a fully ray-traced gaming experience at 240 FPS at 4K resolution on the RTX 5090 graphics card with DLSS 4. However, this feature will only be available on RTX 50 series graphics cards.
DLSS 4 will also come to RTX 20, 30 and 40 series graphics cards, but these models will not be able to benefit from the Multi-Frame Generation feature. Instead, these series will be able to benefit from features such as more advanced frame generation, beam reconstruction and super resolution. NVIDIA announced that these features will be supported by 75 games and applications from day one. Popular games such as Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 will be updated with DLSS 4 support.
