Our journey through the Nine Worlds may continue. According to rumors, DLC work for God of War Ragnarok has already started.
Santa Monica Studios is allegedly developing DLC for God of War Ragnarok. Last year’s epic action game continued the story where Kratos and Atreus journeyed through the Nine Worlds of Nordic mythology and tried to uncover the truth behind an ancient prophecy that predicted the end of the world. God of War Ragnarok received widespread critical acclaim when it launched on PlayStation consoles in November and was nominated for multiple Game of the Year awards.
Fans are waiting for God Of War DLC
It didn’t take long before the topic of DLC came up among the fan base of God of War Ragnarok. However, God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams showed that he ignored the possibility of DLC right after the game’s release.
He said that as the Santa Monica Studios team, they put everything in the core God of War Ragnarok. The 2018 God of War product, which preceded Ragnarok, also did not receive any DLC. However, the developers added smaller quality improvements via post-release patches.
With that in mind, and now that Santa Monica Studios is allegedly working on a new game right now, it’s fair to assume that God of War Ragnarok won’t receive any major DLC. However, according to a new claim from the famous game news leaker The Snitch, it is suggested that Ragnarok may still receive new content.
Game leaker Snitch made a statement
Snitch claims that he is working on a new DLC project developed by Santa Monica Studios and that the development phase of the project is 60% progressed. He says he’s not sure whether this addition will be a complementary DLC or a completely standalone expansion, and it probably won’t be released later this year.
According to The Snitch’s claim, the so-called God of War Ragnarok DLC is largely complete and could be released sometime next year. Santa Monica Studios may already be developing a Ragnarok DLC that could link Kratos’ latest adventure to his next one. Of course, this is all speculation at this stage.
