Djurgården won the derby after a dream start

Djurgården, twelfth in the table before the match, entered the derby with five losses in the last six matches.

But no nervousness was visible. Dif was hot in the first period and washed over AIK. 13-2 in shots and 2-0 in goals in the first period spoke volumes.

Djurgården’s Anton Gradin scored his second goal of the season, which was also the second goal of the match – which would prove decisive.

– Great fun, it’s always fun to be involved and contribute. Very nice, says Gradin.

In front of 13,250 people in the Avicii Arena, AIK reduced the score to 1-2 but got no closer than that. 3-1 for Djurgården came in an empty box.

– We try to make a push, unfortunately we don’t get the puck in. Of course sour like this right after, says AIK’s coach Anton Blomqvist.

The derby was full of emotions. In the second period, with a 2-1 lead for Djurgården, AIK’s Gerry Fitzgerald tackled Kevin Karlsson over the rim.

Towards the end of the match, there was also a fight. Then Fitzgerald was again involved. That time with Emil Berglund.
