Djurgården won – but Hävelid was eliminated

Djurgården took on Karlskoga in front of 8,094 spectators at Johanneshov’s ice stadium and the two top teams offered up a swinging story.

When the home team entered the period break, forward David Blomgren said in the halftime interview that he thought special teams would become extra important.

By then there had already been four goals in either power play or box play – and there would be more of that stuff in the third.

Scored three goals in box play

First through Theodor Pistek who reduced it to 3–4 for Karlskoga after a pass from Henrik Larsson in a game with five men against three.

Karlskoga then had the chance to equalize when they got the power play again a few minutes later – but then Ludvig Rensfeldt instead made it 5-3 for Djurgården in the box play.

And less than a minute later it was 6-3 through Patrik Thoresen – a goal that determined the final result and which also came in box play.

Hugo Hävelid stepped down: “Little feeling”

6-3 to Djurgården after three home goals in numerical disadvantage.

But a cloud of worry for the Stockholmers was when the team’s goalkeeper Hugo Hävelid stepped down in the third period.

But it doesn’t seem to have gone too badly.

– It was a small feeling I got. I felt that it was smart to step down for both me and the team and Viktor (Andrén) did a brilliant job, he himself tells TV4 Hockey.
