Djurgården fell again – despite a dream start

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Thanks to the victory, Mora passed Djurgården, on better goal difference, and up to third place in the table.

Last season’s SHL team has suffered from illnesses, injuries and five players on JVM assignments.

For Wednesday’s match, Djurgården got eight players back and took the lead 3-0 in the first period after, among other things, veteran Nicklas Danielsson scored his first goal after his return.

It still didn’t help.

Mora went up in the second period after, among other things, two goals by Axel Sundberg and took the lead in the third. But the home team’s sharpshooter Olle Liss at least managed to save a point with his 4-4 goal when Djurgården had picked out JVM goalkeeper Carl Lindbom.

But in the penalty shootout, the visitors’ Johan Persson decided.

— I’m very happy with the first period where we dictate the situation, then in the second period it’s just the opposite, we cheat and become scattered. When it starts to blow, we are a bit fragile right now, says Garpenlöv to C More.

Mora is in top form and took his seventh win in the last eight games.

Series reigning Modo have also fallen into a slump, losing for the third time in the last four games. Södertälje won at home in Scaniarink with 4–1.

Series two Björklöven won 7–3 for the second game in a row. Last Friday, Djurgården was crushed with those numbers and on Wednesday it was a great victory away against Kristianstad.

Björklöven is nine points behind leader Modo and seven points ahead of Mora, Djurgården and Södertälje, who all have 58 points.
