Novak Djokovic received a resounding applause from the crowd when number one on the world tennis list got to open his season at the Dubai ATP.
Novak Djokovic defeated 19-year-old Italy in the opening round Lorenzo Musettin 6–3, 6–3.
Djokovic will play his first tournament since early December, when he represented Serbia in the Davis cup team competition.
– So far, most of the players I have seen have been positive and welcome, Djokovic described on the eve of the tournament.
In January, Australia expelled him from the country during a grand slam tournament in Melbourne. Djokovic lost his visa because he has not taken the coroner vaccination.
Djokovic would have had a chance at the 21st grand slam of his career, but a similar history at the Australian Open was made by the Spanish Rafael Nadal.
Dubai does not require coronation vaccination for those entering the country.
