The Omen, one of the most successful horror films of all time, was released in 1976. The story about the demonic boy Damien, who turns out to be Antichrist and son of the devil himself turned out to be a box office sensation.
Since then, the Omen franchise has made five films, most recently including a 2006 remake. A new part of the series is being released this year, telling the story of the Antichrist. A first trailer sets the mood for this.

The main character in The First Omen is the young woman Margaret (Nell Tiger Free), who wants to join the church in Rome and stumbles upon a conspiracy revolving around the birth of the Antichrist.
With a budget of over $4 million, 1976’s The Omen grossed over $60 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo a mega success for the time was. It remains to be seen whether the prequel will be similarly successful.
When does The First Omen start in cinemas?
The horror film opens in the USA on April 5, 2024 in the cinemas. A German date has not yet been set, but should be announced soon.
