Disneys new Snowewittchen film creates which hardly anyone thought possible

In 1937, Disney published his first full -length cartoon for the whole family with Schneewittchen and the seven dwarfs. 88 years later, the animated films of the mouse studio are a fixed part of pop culture-and yet the world has turned further.

Is a new edition of the oldest Disney fairy tale? Director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) answers this question, despite a lot of headwind in advance, with a clear ‘yes’. Because the Snow White remake modernizes the template with an admirable sensitivity without denying the love for the original film.

Fantasy with feeling: Schneewittchen brings the Disney classic into the present

Even if a cute hedgehog rolls out on the lid of a fairy tale book at the beginning, it should be clear: Snow White is pure disney. With the consistently sweet apple motif in the film, a narrative sugar shock is mandatory. Kitsch allergy sufferers have lost nothing here. However, if you greet such warm feelings with open arms, you will find real joy.

Snow White (Rachel Zegler) is brought up to be a good princess by her parents. However, the family happiness does not last long: the mother dies, the father disappears and as soon as the stepmother (Gal Gadot) climbs the throne, the king’s daughter Cinderella degrades it into a maid. When her magic mirror of the new ruler finally reveals years later that Snow White exceeds her in beauty, the royal hunter receives a murder job. But he spares the young people and she finds refuge in the forest at the seven dwarfs.

So far, so well known. The fantasy story of Snow White is in an increasingly complicated world pleasantly simple. The queen is abysmal evil and Gal Gadot plays this diabolical diva with tusto. Rachel Zegler, as an engaging king’s daughter, believes in the good without having sarcastic twin -folder from their hope. However, the return to simpler characters and motifs does not mean that the remake is missing the nuances that seamlessly integrate the remake into the present.

Kissing, cleaning and governing allowed: Snow White is a modern fairy tale

Anyone who watches the original Disney film before the cinema visit will notice that the young heroine is defined in it about her beauty, desired fountain longing for a prince, her love of animals and the willingness to help in the dwarf budget. She brings in the original not many properties withthat make you tangible as a person.

So the remake indicates the heroine carefullywithout completely changing their core. The Snow White from 2025 is still pretty, but does not have to emphasize it. At the fountain she prefers to be the best version of herself. And it teaches the dwarfs to clean because help for self -help for longer. Charged with the properties “Fearless, fair, brave and true”, which even adorn family amulet, the gentle change of direction works without any problems, especially in the English original-because the ambiguous word “fair” can mean both “beautiful” and “fair”. Does it make a difference whether Snow White is named for her noble pallor or now after a blizzard during your birth?

A ray of hope for all romantic fans: just because Snow White is now unmistakable as an independent, whistling and inspiring young woman, that means that means not that she has to swear to love. While love in Disney’s Mulan remake almost fully fell into the background, Snow White prefers to go the way of the Arial new edition-feelings bloom because she and Jonathan (Andrew Burnap) can really get to know each other. Fittingly, he is no longer a prince, but a Flynn Ryder similar Robin Hood, whose bandit heart conquers her with humor and willpower.

The unpleasantly connoted by one-the-wax-kissed-kissed-kissed manner is more intimately important on Snow White Path to size: He kisses, but she acts. Nevertheless, she does not need fighting skills, like Kristen Stewarts armored heroine in Snow White and the Huntsman over ten years ago.

The most profound is the new Snow White film when the princess realizes that she is no longer allowed to justify her inhabitus against the evil queen with the hoped-for return of her father. Although Disney has already taken the parents many figures, the need to grow up was rarely underpinned as understandably as here.

Admen the old and new things: Disney’s Snow White return is successful

In the harsh reality, Snow White’s inspiring speeches would probably only convert a few minds for good things. But we are still in a fairy tale, as the dwarfs with literally glowing hands prove. The fact that Disney decided after criticism of a stereotypical representation of small -scale too entirely animated mythical creatures with oversized heads caused an outcry in advance. CGI faces cannot completely replace human facial expressions, but the character heads reflect many emotions. But in the course of the film you come to unusual dwarf look And the silent dopey will certainly soften many hearts.

The music from La La Land-Duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul also contributes strong impulses in the Disney musical, which combine old and new sounds harmoniously: On the one hand, Rachel Zegler with “Waiting on a Wish” is allowed to smash a power ballad that reminds of Jasmin’s goosebumps song “Speechless” in the Aladdin remake. On the other hand, the composers don’t forget old hits like the dwarf song “Heho” in their musical fresh cell cure. It is even iodized – as in the original.

This makes Snow White succeed in the impossible balancing act that has so far failed so many Disney’s remakes: To conjure up the spirit of the template and still more than just a copy to be.

Disney’s new edition evokes the previous discussions about CGI characters and virgins in need as the heroine, who mediates between the arguments: with gentle certainty. This Snow White enchanted because the real dream of a better world lies in reconciliation of the doubtful and evil takes a fall.
