In 2015, Disney brought the first part of their fantasy series Descendants to US television via their TV channel Disney Channel. The adventure, directed by High School Musical creator Kenny Ortega, was a hit with its new interpretation of well-known Disney fairy tales and plenty of catchy musical interludes. Two equally successful parts followed in recent years.
Now we have Descendants: The Rise of Red a fourth part is in the starting blocks. And the Trailer promises once again a spectacular fantasy adventure.

Fantasy adventure with new heroes in Descendants 4: The Rise of Red
In Descendants 4: The Rise of Red, two new heroines meet: Red (Kylie Cantrall), the daughter of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, and Chloe (Malia Baker), the child of Prince Charming (Paolo Montalban) and Cinderella (Brandy). Together they must travel into the pastto save her beloved fantasy world, because Red’s mother is about to make a terrible mistake.
The fantasy sequel stars Rita Ora (Argylle), China Anne McClain (Black Lightning), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso) and Dara Renee (High School Musical: The Musical – The Series), among others. It was directed by Jennifer Phang (The Boys) from a screenplay by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer.
The first three films in the fantasy series were able to win over viewers primarily with their music. As What’s on Disney reported, the music in the musicals was streamed more than 15 billion times as audio or videoIn addition, the three films became the most successful representatives on US television for their target group of 6- to 11-year-olds and 9- to 14-year-olds.
When is Descendants 4: The Rise of Red coming to Disney+?
Descendants 4: The Rise of Red will be released in Germany parallel to the US launch on July 12, 2024 released exclusively on Disney+.
