Disneyland Paris: what’s new in 2022?

  • A daytime show. For the 30th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris, a new show will be presented daily – and several times a day – in the central square of Disneyland Park, at the foot of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, brand new after 12 months of renovation. Composed of three themes celebrating the power of laughter, passion and dreams, it will feature more than 30 Disney Characters and dancers with new colorful floats and an original musical composition.
  • A nocturnal sequence of Magic, at the cutting edge of technology. As night falls, the Disney D-Lighta new pre-show combining video projection, luminous water jets, light effects, mist, lasers, famous Disney music, and above all, a drone choreography, to offer an additional touch of magic around the iconic Château. This ballet of drones will draw just above the Castle of Sleeping Beauty, a sparkling number “30” in the sky, on the new musical anthem of the 30th Anniversary: ”A world that lights up”.
  • Fairy gardens. Fairy Gardens – made up of 10 themed gardens – will appear in Disneyland Park. Installed in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, they will stage 30 original works of art that will celebrate nature and embody the diversity of Disney and Pixar Characters.
  • An iridescent decor. The Park will also be redecorated around the “iridescent” theme, with sparkling shades of blue and purple. Light effects, neon lights, and backlit kinetic mobiles will dress the different main places of the Disneyland Park, such as the Gazebo or the Main Street USA Station, but also Disney Village.
  • Minnie Mouse’s first pantsuit designed by Stella McCartney. For the 30th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris, Minnie called on British designer Stella McCartney to design her first pantsuit at Disneyland Paris. Stella McCartney will also be selling a unique Minnie Mouse t-shirt for International Women’s Day. This t-shirt will be available exclusively online and in Stella stores on March 8, 2022.

The return of the Lion King show

On October 23, the Lion King made its grand return to Disneyland Paris thanks to the show The Lion King & the Rhythms of the Earth ! During this show of about 30 minutes created especially for Disneyland Park. Singers, dancers, acrobats and percussionists bring the adventures of Simba, Nala, Rafiki, Timon and Pumbaa to life with impressive choreography and original costumes. The show takes place every day at the Frontierland Theater and allows you to (re)live the cult moments of the film The Lion King with music that rocked several generations, re-orchestrated by Disneyland Paris. The show will also be “chansigné” in French sign language weekends (subject to availability). The “chansign” is a form of expression that choreographs the movements and allows to transcribe the lyrics as well as the intensity and the emotion of a song.

The end of free fast-passes at Disneyland Paris

To allow visitors to optimize their stay at the park and limit waiting time, fast-passes have been the solution until now. They allowed you to withdraw a ticket and return in a time slot to reduce the queue. But the park has decided to replace them with a paid offer this summer: Disney Premier Access. It costs around 8 euros per attraction and will allow you to benefit from rapid access without having to go through the usual queue for certain key attractions, both for thrills and for the whole family.

Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel

Marvel fans are going to be thrilled. They will finally be able to live like their superhero and immerse themselves in the culture of New York City. This four-star hotel, designed as a New York art gallery, will pay homage to the city that saw the birth of Spider-Man and many other Marvel Super Heroes. The rooms are decorated in the colors of Superheroes, from Iron Man to the Avengers, including Spider-man.

Good plans for a stay with the little ones

How to optimize your day or your stay at Disneyland Paris with toddlers? The park launchedThe special Parents Guide for children from 0 to 7 years old”, full of advice and information to spend a pleasant stay with young children. The opportunity to discover or rediscover the adapted attractions and to find out a little more about useful services to anticipate future visits.

  • The Rider switch : For thrill rides, “baby” does not mean “sacrificed parent”. When a parent is in line, he can then give way to the second adult who was looking after the children, without having to wait again.
  • babysitting : During a stay at the hotel, the baby-sitting service is available for parents who wish to get away for an evening, or even a day. This service is offered in all hotels where you can also find beds for children, bottle warmers and spaces dedicated to toddlers.
  • stroller rental : For the day at the park, you can leave your stroller at home. Whatever the age of the child, the stroller rental service can be extremely practical (especially at the end of the day when the children are tired). It is possible to rent them in both parks. Count 25 euros per day and a deposit of 50 euros.
  • The food offer adapted to the little ones : We don’t always know it, but Disneyland Paris can rhyme with “eating well”, even for children. In all restaurants, high chairs are available. In addition, the park has developed signage to reassure parents about the quality of children’s menus: Disney Check. This label ensures a meal based on government criteria that can be found on mangerbouger.fr.

Disneyland Paris launches the Standby Pass

Since October 6, 2020, visitors to the two Disneyland Paris parks have been able to limit their time in queues thanks to the stand-by pass, which helps maintain social distancing. This option available on the official Disneyland Paris application allows you to reserve a time slot, on one attraction at a time and without immediate access. By presenting the QR Code generated by the application, they can go to the queue at the times indicated and save time to enjoy their stay even more. The Stanby Pass is first available for Cruch’s Coaster, then Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Peter Pan’s Flight, Big Thunder Mountain, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Autopia, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Ratatouille: Rémy’s Totally Toque Adventure.

Selfies Spot with Disney Characters

When the Park reopened on July 15, the selfie spots have replaced the usual souvenir photos since it is no longer possible to approach the Disney characters. Throughout the park, Mickey, Minnie and their friends, placed at a distance, pose with visitors for a memorable selfie. And that’s not all : kids can also take the stage alongside Elsa and Anna or Marvel superheroes to pose as if they were taking part in the show. For an original and even more immersive experience, professional photographers walk in the aisles and will suggest positions to visitors which will then allow them to make a montage. Result: here appears Cinderella giving you a kiss on the cheek, or Mickey slapping you in the hand. We love !
