In the Steam hit “Disney Dreamlight Valley”, players can earn the in-game currency “Moonstones” – but cannot currently buy them. This is why users on reddit despair and want the opportunity to be able to acquire the rare stones in microtransactions.
What game is it? Disney Dreamlight Valley is an adventure game full of heroes and villains from the Disney universe.
The game is currently still in Early Access, but is already running really well on the Steam gaming platform. Out of a total of 5,446 reviews, 95% are positive (as of October 29, 2022, via Steam)

Moonstones must be currently earned
What is the problem? Moonstones are the in-game currency of Disney Dreamlight Valley. They can be obtained through in-game quests or by leveling up in the Star Path Battle Pass.
However, players cannot buy the moonstones at the moment – many users on reddit do not like it at all. Many currently wish for the possibility of microtransactions in the game to get the rare stones.
What do players write on reddit? There is a discussion on the topic on reddit. User Summerbayisland opens the discourse with the headline:
“I’m so upset that I can’t collect enough moonstones to get the premium items. I wish I could buy moonstones, but this time I have to forego the premium “Star Path”. I also can’t upgrade the game to a Founder’s Pack to get moonstones. Is there anyone else in the same boat?”
Below, some users describe that they made the mistake of already using the moonstones at the last event and now don’t have enough of the currency left to buy the current premium items.
However, there are also several players who are doing well with their current supply of moonstone and who have enough currency due to certain paid packages, such as the “Deluxe Edition”.
When can players buy moonstones? It must be noted that Disney Dreamlight Valley is currently still in Early Access, which probably explains the lack of a Monstein shopping option.
However, the game’s official website states “Moonstones are an in-game currency in Disney Dreamlight Valley that can be collected for free in-game or purchased with real money”.
So the possibility of microtransactions to get moonstones will most likely be opened up to players in the future. However, an exact time window by when the feature will be implemented cannot be found.
