The incident took place last Friday in a park in Güzelyurt District. Allegedly, citizens noticed the man physically harassing an old woman sitting in the park. After the citizens attacked, the suspect tried to run away from the scene. Citizens beat the suspect, who was caught on the street where he escaped. The suspect was taken to the police station to be questioned by the police teams who came to the scene upon notice. What happened was reflected on a citizen’s mobile phone camera.
“PEOPLE REBELLED”
Explaining what happened, Murat Büyükturan, one of the residents of the neighborhood, said, “The person harassed an elderly aunt. Our citizens also beat him and chased him into the street. We shot it several times. People rebelled. “As long as there are such perverts, we cannot leave our children on the streets,” he said.

Emrah Yazıman said, “We are tradesmen, we were working at the workplace. We heard a noise from outside and when we looked, we saw that a person was being beaten by the locals. We learned that he harassed an old woman in the park. “Then the police came and took the man to the police station,” he said.
