On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Safer Internet Day, many resources are made available online and workshops are organized throughout France to raise awareness, young and old, of the various risks associated with online use.
Knowing how to manage your passwords, limit your online activity, not trust strangers or recognize fake news are all things to master when surfing the Internet. It is to see things more clearly that Safer Internet Day was created, an annual event for the general public.
Tuesday, February 7, 2023 marks the 20th edition of this World Day for a Safer Internet, deployed today in more than 150 countries. In France, it is led by Internet Without Fear, the European Commission’s national digital awareness program for young people. This day actually kicks off an entire month devoted to protecting young people online.
Internet Without Fear is once again this year at the initiative of many actions. This will result in particular in the provision of kits to download, from primary to high school, to enable teachers and extracurricular actors to organize awareness-raising workshops for young people around themes such as social networks, cyber-bullying, online information, screen time and games video. Other resources are also available for the family, in order to promote exchanges between parents and children, on their digital practices.
Internet Without Fear’s partners include OrangeGoogle, or even Apple, which puts in place throughout the month of February dedicated workshops in its Apple Stores and who, throughout the year, via its page Familiespresents parents with its various tools to limit the uses and screen time of their children.
