Presented at the Cannes Film Festival, Gilles Lellouche’s drama has been given a first trailer a few weeks before its cinema release.
After The Big Bath, Gilles Lellouche is back in directing. The actor and filmmaker will soon reveal Love phewan epic fresco that aims to be ambitious and that adapts the novel of the same name written by Neville Thompson. In this feature film, the audience will follow two teenagers who fall in love, despite their opposing social origins. When the boy becomes a criminal and spends 12 years in prison, their passionate love becomes impossible… or not?
A first trailer as aesthetic as it is enigmatic was unveiled this Tuesday by StudioCanal, a few weeks before the film’s release in theaters. If these first images say little about the stakes and the plot, they reveal the cast of the film, including François Civil and Adele Exarchopoulos who play the main couple as adults, but also Mallory Wanecque, Malik Frikah, Alain Chabat, Benoît Poelvoorde, Vincent Lacoste, Jean-Pascal Zadi, Élodie Bouchez, Karim Leklou, Raphaël Quenard, and Anthony Bajon.
Presented in competition at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, Love phew left empty-handed and did not win any awards. It remains to be seen how it will be received in movie theaters. Love phew is to be discovered on the big screen in France on October 16, 2024.
